Responsibilities

  • Be the technical Ying to the account manager’s business Yang: Lead the charge to convince all technical stakeholders on the customer side why our solution is the best one for their specific use case.
  • Assess customer needs and qualify leads at a technical level: In partnership with the Regional Sales Manager, understand the customer’s pain points and needs, and ascertain how our solution can help the customer.
  • Be the post-sale go-to person for all your accounts: Maintain a strong relationship with the technical decision makers and influencers within your accounts.
  • Make the product shine in the field: Demonstrate the product to customers and partners regularly. Work with the product marketing to design the optimal demo setup and environment, and manage the demo setup on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify sales tools needed to help grow the business: Work with the product marketing team to identify sales tools needed in the field, such as case studies, ROI spreadsheets, etc.
  • Own RFP/RFI response creation: Work with the product marketing team to craft responses to RFPs/RFIs from customers, and maintain a library of all responses for future use.
  • Train partners to win: Train your counterparts within partner organizations to be able to carry out all of technical sales functions without any support from you.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS with 7+ years of overall experience.
  • Prior sales engineering experience in the networking space is a requirement.
  • Must be extremely comfortable with hands-on systems deployment in customer labs and in data centers.
  • Prior experience with WAN traffic acceleration is a definite plus.
  • Prior experience as the first or early sales engineer at a startup is a definite plus.
  • Must be comfortable working with pre-release / Beta products, and be comfortable interacting with product management, development and QA to solve customer problems real-time.
