Data Center-to-Data Center Traffic Is Exploding. You’re Not Alone.
In early 2010, Infineta Systems commissioned Forrester Consulting to examine data-center-to-data-center WAN usage among firms with very large storage environments and multiple data centers.
To further explore this trend, Forrester developed a study to characterize the nature of data center WAN traffic, its growth, and typical strategies used by firms reduce their WAN costs. The study entailed capturing customer information through an in-depth survey of 106 IT decision-makers responsible for server, network, and/or storage operations in the United States.
